“ Been eating at Whistle Wok for over a year now. When I first walked into the place, I was surprised on how clean and beautifully-kept the restaurant was. That's a good sign. Kitchen is probably clean too, then. In looking at the various entrees through the glass partition, ALL the Asian employees (owners? family?) were very dutiful and kind. You know what they say: "love" is the secret ingredient. If the family that owns the place have good hearts, the food is likely to be prepared with love as well (and be good). Unlike places where they hate the Americans, or even Americanized fast food places--where the food is TOO processed or run of the mill to have any vibrancy or luster. I like the Whistle Wok's Garlic Chicken because the amount of fresh mushrooms (halved, not sliced!!!) they add is PHENOMENAL! Where else can you GET that?? Prefer the Sesame Chicken for a sweet entree. And the Mongolian Pork has SOOO MANY onions, it's HEAVENLY (I myself love onions if they are fresh, and they are); wish they wouldn't use so much curry powder in the dish, though, as it is a tad overpowering. I always get the Cream Cheese Wontons. For a couple of dollars, you get THREE of them, and I can never stop eating them until I've eaten all three. Whistle Wok is also classy: selling tall GLASS bottles of Coke, AND the Japanese 'ball in the bottle' Ramune sodas. I like these people. Most of the time I order from DoorDash and they soooo efficiently and quickly prepare the order... and it is ACCURATE each and every time!! They also never forget to include a fork AND chopsticks. Even the fortune cookies seem to be ordered from a good company; never stale, and the fortunes seemed to be timed with the seasons (ex. - "Next May, you will...."). I wish there was a way on DoorDash to specify whether you want an Egg Roll or a Wonton, though (2 or more items and an Egg Roll is automatically chosen for you... I like the Wontons better). I hope Whistle Wok is lucrative and prospers in metro Salt Lake City. Good people deserve success in life, and I will continue to be their loyal customer. ”
